Summer Art
Workshops
Children who took part in a range of free creative arts activities during the summer holidays are getting together to celebrate their achievements with a showcase performance.
The activities were run for children between the ages of 8 and 12, who worked with professional artists on drama, Brazilian and African dance, art and poetry.
The celebration event is an important part of the workshops as it allows children to celebrate their hard work and achievements, and enables parents, grandparents and carers to be involved.
Manny Sehmbi Community Development Worker said; "This project is an opportunity for children to take part in a range of activities that will develop their confidence, get more involved in their local area but also try something new. I feel that it is important to celebrate the children's achievement and to enjoy the work they have produced."
On the evening of the 28th September the children and parents will be attending a celebration event at Green Rock Primary School where the children will receive a certificate of achievement in celebration.
