Atrium hosts first
family show
Like mother, like daughter; Hazel Lea and her daughter Elizabeth have teamed up to show their work at the Blakenall Village Centre's Atrium Art Gallery.
Hazel has painted all her life, with what started as a hobby becoming more serious following the first of her now annual visits to The St. Ives School of Art. Hazel has always encouraged her daughter, Elizabeth, to create art, and now they are showing their work together.
Elizabeth said; "We work separately and we have different ways of creating our art, but when we get together we inspire and motivate each other. We hope that our show will be exciting and that the viewer will find inspiration in our work".
Hazel specialises in oils, whereas Elizabeth uses a wider range of materials such as acrylic, watercolours and inks and is more experimental, drawing on her education and BA in Fashion.
Both are members of the Walsall Society of Artists for many years, they also exhibit in the annual show at the New Art Gallery.
To have their own exhibition is to have an ambition realised and they have plans to show more work later in the year through the Walsall Art Network at The Crossing and Town Hall in Walsall.
If you are interested in showing your work please contact Andy Bradley or Sally Gamston on 01922 712858.
