Achievement Awards
in Blakenall

On Wednesday 21st May, Walsall's New Deal will be congratulating and celebrating with 150 of its achievers at a ceremony at the Blakenall Community Centre.

Tom Perrett MBE said; "This is a great opportunity for our learners to get together and celebrate their achievements. It is also an opportunity for our partnership to celebrate the many educational and learning initiatives that we have carried out in the area, and the life changing influence that education can have".

The certificates will be presented by Professor Jo Allan who heads up the Research Team as the Associate Dean of the School of Education at Wolverhampton University, here in Walsall.

Many guests have been invited from across the borough and the range of achievements is considerable. More individual stories will be available on the evening which is proving very popular annual event.

Mick Taylor, Chair of Walsall's New Deal Education and Learning Theme group said; "We will be celebrating the achievements of our learners in true style; learners helped by ContinYou, the College of Continuing Education, New Deal's Youth Team and Steps to Work will be receiving a certificate for their achievement. They will also have their photograph taken with a cap and gown to commemorate the occasion".

The event is taking place at the Blakenall Community Centre on Wednesday 21st May commencing at 7.00pm.
