"Baby, Think it Over!"
The "Baby, Think it Over" project is a virtual baby project run by Walsall's New Deal's Young Persons Liaison Team that began on Tuesday 26th February and is aimed at young people aged 12 plus.
The team will be running 3 sessions that commenced on Tuesday 26th, Thursday 28th and finishing on Friday 29th February from 5.00pm - 8.00pm at the Young Persons information Centre, Ingram Road, Blakenall.
The sessions will cover topics such as:
- Sexual health,
- Money management
- Drugs and alcohol awareness.
At the end of training sessions the 'babies' will be taken home by the participants for the weekend.
The 'babies' are then returned to the Young Person's information Centre on Monday 2nd March, where youth workers will be able to print out results on how the 'baby' has been cared for.
The project aims to give young people a realistic insight into the difficulties of being a young parent.
Jayne Read Senior Young Persons Liaison Worker said; "The project has been run before and has proved to be successful, young people are educated on topics such as sexual health and drug and alcohol awareness and are also able to experience first hand how difficult it is to be a young parent."
If anyone is interested in being part of the "Baby, Think it Over" project please contact Jayne Read on 01922 443440.
