National Bike Week
in Blakenall
The UK's Nationwide 'celebration of cycling' is here again from the 16th to the 24th June.
The broad aims of National Bike Week are; to promote healthier life styles, to keep fit, to show people that cycling is fun and to get more people cycling, more often.
Walsall's New Deal is trying to do its bit by encouraging our staff to cycle to work on Friday 22nd June, and as a small reward / inducement those 'bikers' who cycle to work will be eligible to have a 'guilt free' breakfast on us in the Blakenall Village Centre's Horizon Restaurant from 08.30am until 10.00hrs and you can have free tea, coffee, juice and toast.
Leading up to 'Cycle to Work Friday' Gail Beeley, Young Persons Liaison Worker, has organised bike 'health' checks on Tuesday 19th June and Thursday 21st June those having there bike checked over will get a free gift. The gifts have been donated by Walsall Council Cycling Officer, Adam Cross and Russell's Cycles of Walsall.
And if staff haven't got a bike there is no excuse! Because Gail will be lending them one!!
Ends.....
