Blind Date

Love was in the air at the Young Persons information Centre as a Blind Date event was held on Friday 13th February for Valentines Day.

The format for the event was similar to the Blind Date television show that was hosted by Cilla Black.

The event was a big hit with the young people at the centre as each young person really enjoyed the idea of not knowing who they were going to be paired with at the end of the evening. The event was split into two age categories, 11-13 years and 14-19 years.

Amy Betteley one of New Deal's young advisors who took part said; "The event really was fun, and different event for the young people of the centre, everyone enjoyed it".

The aim of the Blind Date event was to enable our young people to have a fun event as a lead into our Half Term Activity week. The event was also designed to break down communication barriers between young people, and to encourage participation in a light hearted evening of fun.

There are many more activities and events that go on at the Young Persons information Centre.

If young people would like more information about the work of the New Deal Youth Team or if you are interested in getting involved, please contact the Youth Team at the Young Persons information Centre on 01922 443440, or pop in and see them.
