Children Celebrate
their Art

Children from the New Deal area who have taken part in creative arts activities during the summer holidays are coming together on Friday 22nd August 6pm until 7.30 to celebrate their achievements with an exhibition of their art work at the Blakenall Community Centre.

The creative arts activities have been running for children between the ages of 8 and 12, who have worked with professional artists on various activities such as; T-shirt making, creating 3D models, producing music CDs, street dance, break dance, African drumming, film making and drama.

The celebration event is an important part of the workshops as it allows children to celebrate their hard work and achievements, but also enables parents, grandparents and carers to be involved.

Cllr. Les Beeley Chair of the Community Empowerment Theme said;
"This project is an opportunity for children to take part in a range of activities that will develop their confidence, get more involved in their local area but also try something new. I feel that it is important to celebrate the children's achievement and to enjoy the work they have produced."

Parents and family members are invited to the event at which participating children will receive a 'certificate of achievement'.

If you would like more further information on this project please contact either Manny Sehmbi or Jo Toft at the Blakenall info Centre on 01922 711228.
