Can't cook!... Want to cook?








Can't cook!... Want to cook? Is a course aimed at New Deal residents who would like to get in the kitchen but don't have the confidence or skills.

The course follows on from the successful Chef's Special that trained young people to gain cooking skills.

Jo Toft, New Deal Community Worker said; "The young people had so much fun we have decided that it was about time the adults had some as well! The young people produced some excellent food, and completed their course by cooking dinner for the members of the New Deal board".

The course run by New Deals professional Chef Steve Carroll is running for six weeks commencing Wednesday 25th April between 3.40pm and 5.40pm in the kitchen at the Blakenall Village Centre.

The course will be a great opportunity for adult residents to learn how to cook affordable food that doesn't involve hours of preparation and cooking time.

The ingredients used in dishes will be items that are easily available so participants will then be able to recreate them and show off their cooking skills at home.

Our chef, Steve Carroll who oversees the Horizon Restaurant at the Blakenall Village Centre, will demonstrate a different dish every week, working alongside students, passing on 'trade secrets', cooking skills, and advice.

So if you are a New Deal resident why not take advantage of the course and learn new skills in a fun and relaxed environment. Places are limited so if you are interested contact Jo Toft at the Blakenall info Centre on 01922 711228 as soon as possible.

Crèche facilities are available for people who would like to attend but need childcare support.
