Walsall's New Deal would like to congratulate Ryan Cockbill who recently won the Mayors 'Overcoming All Odds Award'. The award is presented to an individual or group who has overcome a significant challenge. Paul Rowlands chief executive of Walsall's New Deal said; "It is a great privilege for us to be able to sponsor the 'Overcoming All Odds Award' that has gone to Ryan, a very deserving candidate; we would also like to congratulate Owen Brandrick and Caz Minter-Wright who also were finalists in this category". The initiative received a £52 million Government grant from the Department for Communities and Local Government (formerly the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister) to be spent on sustainable regeneration spread over a ten year period that commenced 2001. |
