Creative Art Workshops
Due to the success of last year's summer activities young people are being offered the opportunity again to get involved in free creative arts activities during the summer holidays.
The Summer Art Workshops are targeted at children between the ages of 8 and 12 and are being held in venues across the New Deal area and will be run by professional artists.
The fun workshops will involve a range of activities such as T-shirt making, produce a music CD, street dance, break dance, African drumming, film making, and drama.
The artists will be working with young people who will pick up new skills and be encouraged to become more aware of their environment and take a more active role within their community.
Michelle Parry Community Empowerment Theme Leader said; "This project is an opportunity for young people to take part in a range of activities that will develop confidence, learn new skills and help them to get more involved in their local area. Last year a young person who attended the camera workshops has joined a camera club at the Young Persons information Centre and is developing their skills further. So, this can be an opportunity for young people to discover their hidden talents".
If you would like more further information on this project please contact either Manny Sehmbi or Jo Toft at the Blakenall info Centre on 01922 711228.
