'Extreme Fusion' Dance
Walsall's New Deal Dance Group 'Extreme Fusion' put on their own dance show at Shelfield Sports and Community College theatre on Friday 28th November.
The show was organised by two young volunteers Amy Betteley and Becky Saunders who are part of the StreetGames Co-operative, Young Volunteers project. They sold the tickets, produced programmes, and bought costumes all whilst practicing their own dances.
The show involved young people from Shelfield Sports College, Frank F Harrison School, and New Deal, along with the StreetCheer national champions the Shelfield Knights. The night was a great success with everyone enjoying themselves all of the performances were to a very high standard.
Amy Betteley, Young Volunteer said; "I have had a great time organising and dancing in the show, I am already looking forward to the next one."
'Extreme Fusion' (formerly known as 'New Deals Aloud') have been a successful dance group for more than 4 years. New Deal's Youth and Sports Development Team have worked in partnership with the girls, to organise competitions and activities for them to 'show off' their skills.
Gail Beeley, Young Persons Liaison Worker said; "The girls have put a lot of time and effort into organising and practicing for this show. I am really proud of them".
Beth Alvey, New Deal's Sports Strategy Manager said; "The show was organised and produced by young people with the aim of bringing together young girls from the community to give them something active and productive to do."
The show was funded by a Sport Unltd Award.
