How green is your garden?

New Horizons Community Enterprise in partnership with Neighbourhood Nature is
launching a garden competition on 1st June for local residents as a part of their
'Blakenall in Bloom' campaign.

Residents in the New Horizons area can enter their front or rear garden into the competition with the hope of winning £100 in garden vouchers. The competition is being launched to aid the efforts of the 'Blakenall in Bloom' entry which is part of the competitive Heart of England in Bloom campaign.

Tom Perrett MBE Chair of New Horizons Community Enterprise said; "We are really looking forward to receiving local entries and seeing what our gardeners are doing with their own areas, we're hoping for a good response to the competition and we are looking forward to judging the entries and viewing local gardens."

Last year 'Blakenall in Bloom' received Silver Award in the competitive category of Urban Community. This year the area will include parts of Leamore and Bloxwich as well as Blakenall. Other events being hosted for 'Blakenall in Bloom' include; an Art Competition for children and planting of areas by volunteers and litter picks by local young people.

Please contact the Blakenall info Centre on 711228 for an entry form.

For more information on the 'Blakenall in Bloom' campaign, please contact Julia Morris or Victoria Westwood on 711228.
