Harry Freeman

New Horizons Community Enterprise welcomes local artist Harry Freeman to the Atrium Gallery at the Blakenall Village Centre, who will be exhibiting his work from the 18th September to 24th October.

Harry was born in 1941 in Hawthorne Road, Willenhall, being the second youngest son of Elizabeth and Charles Freeman.

He has enjoyed a varied work life from tool room foreman, to catering manager, pub licensee, and finally caretaker at Chuckery Flats.

Harry has always liked painting, mainly for the grandchildren, however when his wife Sandra fell ill this became more of a hobby.

In 2006, Harry's wife passed away, and as a thank you for the care given to Sandra, he organised a fundraising event for the Walsall Manor Hospital, whereby some of his painting were auctioned
for the charity.

Harry is grateful for the encouragement he has received from Brian Wood and his colleagues at the Chuckery Tennant Management Committee and many people have recognised his art skills, this has led to Harry painting many pictures for friends and donating pieces for auction to local charities including Golden Wishes.

As Branch Chairman of the Royal British legion Bloxwich, Harry has some of his work displayed in
the Bloxwich Club.

Harry Freeman is exhibiting his work from 18th September until 24th October 2009.

If you are interested in showing your work please contact Andy Bradley or Sally Gamston
