LAPD in Walsall ??
Walsall's New Deal's Youth Forum has formed their own LAPD, Litter And Pride Department.
Young people aged between 8 - 11 years whilst working on a photographic project identified litter as being a problem in their area, and have, since then been out in force in Blakenall cleaning up the streets.
The young people go out to once every six weeks following their Youth Forum meeting, they are also be working with Julia Morris New Deals Neighbourhood Nature Officer and Davinder Singh the newly appointed Leamore Park Development Officer and they will be carrying out a range of activities in Leamore Park.
Young people aged between 8 - 11 years are invited to come along and join in the Youth Forum / LAPD which takes place on a Monday evening from 6 - 7:30pm.
Those who attend will be invited to the swimming club which takes place at Bloxwich Leisure Centre. Members of the LAPD are rewarded with free swim sessions at the Bloxwich Leisure Centre.

Walsall's New Deal for Communities is a regeneration initiative working in the areas of Blakenall, Bloxwich and Leamore. The initiative received a £52 million Government grant from the Department for Communities and Local Government (formerly the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister) to be spent on sustainable regeneration spread over a ten year period that commenced 2001. |
