Level 1 / Level 2 Sports Leaders Award
Walsall's New Deal Sports Development Team and Shelfield Community Academy are running a Level 1 / Level 2 Award in Sports Leadership.
The course will start on Wednesday 11th March at the Shelfield Community Academy, Broad Way, Pelsall. It will run every Wednesday for approximately 20 weeks between 4.00 - 5.30pm and will be free to take part.
The course is an accredited Sports Leaders UK qualification and encompasses learning about different sports and leadership skills to teach and coach younger children. It is a great introduction to sports coaching and is aimed at those who are 14 years or older.
Part of the award is also to organise and volunteer at a sports event led by the young leaders from the group for local younger children.

Walsall's New Deal for Communities is a regeneration initiative working in the areas of Blakenall, Bloxwich and Leamore. The initiative received a £52 million Government grant from the Department for Communities and Local Government (formerly the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister) to be spent on sustainable regeneration spread over a ten year period that commenced 2001. |
