Charity 'Olympic Day'
Walsall's New Deal Sports Development Team and Shelfield Sports and Community College are bringing together a group of New Deal children to participate in a charity fundraising 'Olympic Day'.
On Friday 29th August, the children will come together at Shelfield Sports and Community College to participate in a range of activities throughout the day. The teams will have the chance to compete for trophies and medals in their bid to become 'Olympic Champions'.
Whilst competing, the young people will be raising funds for the CLIC Sargent Charity who work with children who have cancer and their families.
Beth Alvey, New Deal Sports Strategy Manager said; "The children will have been enjoying a summer of sports activities, this will be a chance to bring the children together to compete in a wide range of sports in their own 'Olympics' and raise money for a good cause."
The event has received support from a wide range of local companies who include; Adams Tours, Tesco, Buffet Express, Lisssport and Maudesport who are donating services to the event.
For more information about the scheme please contact Beth Alvey on 01922 685777 or mobile 07725 702936.
