‘Open Day for
popular centre’
Walsall's New Deal for Communities Blakenall info Centre has recently gone through a refurbishment that will help to improve front line services to New Deal area residents.
Originally opened in March, 2003, the centre has been very popular with local residents who make good use of the wide range of services and advice on offer.
Judy White manager for the centre said "As our reputation has grown, we have become busier, and with that, as with any centre that is so busy there is an amount of wear and tear".
The refurbishment consists of:
- A new illuminated sign across the front of the Centre.
- Redesigning the ground floor to make it more open and welcoming to the public.
- The transformation of an upstairs meeting room into a purpose training facility with access to the internet and an interactive white board.
To show off the new improved facilities the staff team is holding an Open Day on Wednesday 12th May. Please feel free to come along at any time between 9am and 7pm for a chat and some light refreshments. There will also be an opportunity to see for your self how the training room will work.
"We're here to help" is the info Centre's team motto, with the staff aiming to provide help and advice to anyone who walks through their doors, in a friendly and relaxed environment.
The staff have never turned anyone away; no matter what the problem may be. In the past three and a half years the team have dealt with everything from stray cats and dogs to leaky pipes!
Ends.....
