'Capture' your Community

Walsall's New Deal Community and Voluntary Sector Forum are planning a photography showcase to mark National Volunteers Week 2007 at the Blakenall & Leamore Summer Festival on Saturday 16th June 2007.

The Forum will be at the Blakenall and Leamore Summer Festival from 10.00am to 6.00pm. Community members are being asked to come along with photographs of their area and community which can be displayed.

There will also be facilities on the day to download photographs from digital cameras and mobile phones as well as scanning equipment for printed photographs.

Jean Jevons Chair of the Community and Voluntary Sector said; "This is a great opportunity for residents to show us what their community means to them, and to showcase their photographic talent."

Pictures can also be taken to the Blakenall info Centre, 4 Blakenall Heath in the run up to the event. A photograph will then be chosen to be featured in the next edition of New Deal's community newsletter 'ChTatter'.

Blakenall and Leamore Summer Festival will host Pat Collins Fun Fair, as well as the Community Village, mini soccer, skate boarding competitions and much, more.

If you would like more information about the 'photography showcase' please contact Victoria Westwood on 01922 711228.
