Plant swap?...........
New Horizons Community Enterprise and Neighbourhood Nature are kicking off this years 'Blakenall in Bloom' competition with a Plant Swap on Wednesday 3rd June from 11.00am - 2.00pm at Leamore Park, Blakenall Lane.
Local 'plant lovers' are being invited to come along to a 'swap shop' with a plant from their garden. The Plant Swap is one of many community events that are being held in Blakenall in the run up to judging day, and is part of the Volunteers Week celebration event.
Julia Morris Neighbourhood Nature co-ordinator said; "Local residents are invited to come along and join in by swapping some of their plants for others. If anyone would like to join in or find out more about 'Blakenall in Bloom' please come along for a chat."
The partnership has entered Blakenall into the Heart of England in Bloom competition. Last year 'Blakenall in Bloom' received a Silver Award in the Urban Community category.
This year the competition will include parts of Leamore as well as Blakenall. Other events being hosted for 'Blakenall in Bloom' include; a Local Garden Competition, planting of areas by volunteers and litter picks by local young people.
