New Deal's Art Attack!!
Young people between the ages of 8 and 12 are being offered the opportunity to get involved in free creative arts activities during the summer holidays.
The play schemes are being held in venues across the New Deal area and are being run by professional artists; who will use a range of methods, poster making, graffiti art, drama, visual arts, clay work to involve young people in the different art projects.
The project funded by Walsall's New Deal is being delivered in partnership with Walsall Council, and will aim to encourage young people to become more aware and involved with their environment and to take a more active role in their community.
Manny Sehmbi, Community Development worker for Walsall's New Deal said; "This project will be an exciting opportunity for young people to try a variety of art activities, encouraging them to think about, be proud of and get involved in their local area, we are also going to have some fun!".
Places are limited, sessions run from 23rd of July until the 23rd of August.
Anyone interested can sign up for as little as a day or a maximum of two weeks at a time; places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Walsall's New Deal for Communities is a regeneration initiative working in the areas of Blakenall, Bloxwich and Leamore. The initiative received a £52 million Government grant from the Department for Communities and Local Government (formerly the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister) to be spent on sustainable regeneration spread over a ten year period that commenced 2001. |
