Scraperboard artist at
the Atrium
The Atrium Gallery at the Blakenall Village Centre welcomes local artist David Spencer who will be exhibiting from 15th August to the 29th September.
David was born and raised in the Walsall area but despite showing an early interest in art he did not pursue it after leaving school. Instead he followed a career in science and pollution control and only after taking voluntary 'early retirement' has he had time to indulge what was his hobby and produce enough work for exhibitions.
David said; "My other passion, besides making paintings is wildlife the opportunity to combine the two, gives me great pleasure, I produce work in oils, acrylics and more unusually scraperboard which allows for very fine detail. The scraperboard pictures are also painted producing distinctive results."
Though mainly shown around the West Midlands/Staffordshire he has had works accepted by N.E.W.A (National Exhibition of Wildlife Art) and T.W.A.S.I (The Wildlife Art Society International) of which he is a member.
David said; "I am pleased to be able to show my work at the Blakenall Village Centre and I hope people will enjoy my exhibition".
David also takes commissions for pet portraits.
David Spencer's exhibition runs from Friday 15th August until Saturday 20th September.
