Celebrating Volunteering...

On Wednesday 3rd June, Walsall's New Horizon Community Enterprise Community and Voluntary Sector Forum will be celebrating the work of local volunteers at an event in Leamore Park, Blakenall Lane.

The event will run from 11am to 2pm at the pavilion at the Park and admission is free.

Local people are invited drop in and browse the many stalls and displays and have the chance to take part in art and crafts, crown green bowling, sports and fitness sessions as well as finding out what community and voluntary sector groups are offering in the area.

Chairperson of the Community and Voluntary Sector Forum; Mrs. Jean Jevons said; "This is a great opportunity for our volunteers to get together and celebrate their hard work that often goes unnoticed. Local groups will showcase their work in a relaxed setting; it will also be a chance for local groups to sign up new volunteers that in turn will strengthen groups for years to come".

Local volunteers have been nominated by their groups in appreciation of their hard work and each individual will receive a certificate.

The first 30 people who 'sign up' to be part of a group or to take part in the activities on the day will receive a free 'goody bag' and any groups who attend will be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win vouchers that can be used by their group to purchase resources.

Please come and 'pop into' Leamore Park on 3rd June between 11am and 2pm.

If you are interested in getting involved or would like any more information please contact Paul Smith on 01922 711228.
