Walsall's Young Advisors - Young Consultants
Walsall Young Advisors are a group of young people aged between 15 - 21 who are based at New Deals Young Persons information Centre.
The Young Advisors, also known as "Young Consultants" and have recently finished consultation work for Leamore Park and are always on the lookout for their next piece of work.
The group that started working together in March 2008 and have recently received £1000 funding from Terrence Higgins Trust to deliver sessions on 'Parental life Coaching' and breaking down the barriers of talking about sexual health and relationships with their children; the sessions involved both young people and parents.
Young advisors work varies and the team can offer several services such as: consultation, youth proofing of documents, planning events and if necessary being a voice for young people.

Walsall's New Deal for Communities is a regeneration initiative working in the areas of Blakenall, Bloxwich and Leamore. The initiative received a £52 million Government grant from the Department for Communities and Local Government (formerly the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister) to be spent on sustainable regeneration spread over a ten year period that commenced 2001. |
