meet the Team
Neil Harding - UEFA/FA Hat-Trick Officer (Football)
Neil manages our football development programmes as part of New Deal for Communities on-going partnership with the Football Association. With a background including coaching and development for championship team West Bromwich Albion FC and an FA Level 3 (UEFA B) coach, Neil is well equipped to develop some future stars from our area!
Leary Johnson - Football & Gateway to Sport Community Coach
Leary is able to coach a range of sports (not just football!). He holds a level 2 football coaching qualification and is also qualified to deliver a wide range of other sports and physical activities including; Athletics, Volleyball, Basketball, Multi-Skills and the primary Tops programme of sports.
Martin Foxall - Outdoor Pursuits Community Coach
Martin (AKA Crocodile Dundee), joined the team last year and comes with a wealth of experience in Outdoor Pursuits. He currently delivers a number of canoeing courses and our healthy walks programme (Qualified Walkers Leader - Ground Miles Programme), but future delivery will include climbing (Mobile Climbing Wall), Mountain Biking and Orienteering.
Michelle Langston - Dance Community Coach
Michelle is currently completing her BA (Hons) in Dance at Wolverhampton University (Walsall Campus), which she not only combines with her community dance development but also her own dance performances. She has a number of year's experience of developing dance programmes within schools and community projects.
Marie Halls - Health and Fitness Development Officer
Marie is a new addition to our team having served in the British Army for over 20 years. Having completed her Premier Diploma in Fitness Training and Sports Therapy, developed her own personal training company and gained experience with a range of 'special' populations, you could say Marie is somewhat of an expert in her field. Welcome to the team Marie!
Rachel Law & Katie Deeley - Fitness Coach
Rachel and Katie (our local success stories!), have both progressed through our volunteers development programme to gain employment with Shelfield Sports College. Having completed their BTEC National Diploma (Level 3) in Sports and Exercise Science (Including Gym instructors award - YMCA) and Level 2 in Sports and Fitness Therapy at Walsall college, they have both now gained a huge amount of experience in a short period of time and look well on their way to developing successful sport / fitness careers. They currently deliver our Girls and Women's fitness programme and our 50+ fitness programme in addition to fitness and aerobics classes for our primary schools network.

- Are there any sports activities you would like to see in the area? Please give the Sports Development Team a call on 07725 702936 to suggest ideas.
- Healthy Walks scheme now running from Blakenall Village Centre, Thames Road, Blakenall on Thursdays. Meet at 11.15am and be guided on a walk around the area. Routes will include the canal towpath and local parks, it is a great way to keep fit and meet new people.
- Judo is running in the Blakenall Community Association on a Monday evening 4.30 - 6.30pm. Come along if you are 8 - 14years to learn and develop judo moves. Ian the coach can cater for complete beginners to the advanced. Your first two sessions are free and it is then £1 each time.
